Using the Wrong Filter

Noise (red), the neutron star bar mode waveform (green) and an inverted inspiral waveform (blue).

The neutron star bar mode waveform added to the inspiral waveform.

Filtering with the bar mode waveform gives the expected signal-to-noise ratio (green)
of about 10. Filtering with the inverted inspiral gives a signal-to-noise ration (blue)
that is about the same as using the same filter on just noise.
