  • Globus Project and its UK mirror site
  • - This project is developing technologies needed to build computational grids and is organised around the four areas of: research, software tools, applications and test beds.
  • GIOD - Globally Interconnected Object Databases, a joint project between Caltech, CERN and HP to address the data storage and access problems posed by LHC generation experiments.
  • MONARC - Models of Networked Analysis at Regional Centres is a joint Atlas/CMS project which attempts to model the computing environment of thousands of physicists using computing facilities at CERN and the regional computing centers.
  • Nile - A joint project of Cornell, Florida, UCSD and UT Austin, has developed control software which turns a set of workstations into a single virtual computer.
