  • The Annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), in San Antonio, TX, in June 17-19 (2001).
  • NECC is the world's largest exhibition of educational technology where teachers from around the globe gathered to learn about incorporating computers into the classroom. NECC can drive over 13,000 teachers, K-12 and university level, from around the globe, as well as a high attendance at the pre-conference activities. The conference is a combination of workshops, inspirational speakers, formal presentations, and over 2000 information booths manned by education professionals with the primary objective of providing resources, sharing ideas and introducing new technology for the use of educators.
  • Note: The NECC 2002 program taking place in San Antonio, TX, June 17-19, is full, and it is too late to schedule a GriPhyN/iVDGL talk now. However, we can still aim for a presentation at NECC 2003 that will take place in Seattle, WA, June 30-July 2. The Call for Participation will be online on the NECC 2003 Web site August 30, 2002. www.neccsite.org. Here below is the contact information:

  • Undergraduate faculty summer workshops with 6 workshops around the country this summer, and 12 planned for next summer to assist faculty with the integration of computational science tools, resources and methods into their courses.

  • The Annual supercomputing conference ( SC2002) to be held in Baltimore, November 16-22 (2001). This is a wonderful opportunity for GriPhyN researchers to showcase their research, participate in Education program, and exhibit their research; EOT-PACI will be drawing a large number of faculty from MSIs to participate this year (30 attended last year); also a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to learn about latest in HPC technology and to learn about career opportunities in research, education and industry.
  • ANMSI meetings. The overall goal of this project is to assist Minority-Serving Institutions as they develop the campus infrastructure and national connections to become and remain full participants in the emerging Internet-based "Information Age."

  • GriPhyN and iVDGL meetings:

  • Education and Outreach meeting in Hampton Univ. (May 15-16)
