Research

For most astronomical settings, Newton's classical theory of gravity is very accurate.  The Relativistic Astrophysics group at UTB studies the exotic configurations in which Einstein's curved spacetime theory of gravity is important or crucial. Such configurations include black holes, neutron stars and strong field sources of gravitational waves. The nature of the research involves theoretical physics, applied mathematics, and computer modeling. Dr. Richard Price focuses on work in this area, often collaborating with UTB colleagues Fredrick Jenet and Teviet Creighton.
